Not even remotely for profit, lll is an essentially literary endeavor to promote the common sense of being humane in a world still too full of inhumanity. Although it is true that we humans are animals, we no longer live in a primitive state. Our attempt at civilizing ourselves via using our hands and opposable digits to build the trappings of civilization, falls well short of the heart and soul of actually being civil.
Incivility exists in nearly all categories of our lives: social, economic, governmental, religious, corporate, interpersonal, ethnic, cultural, educational and even psychological. In an attempt to promote awareness of decent alternatives to semi-, quasi- and pseudo-cognitive behavior, lll seeks to post writings on, within and akin to all of these topics. The gulf between civil consideration and natural intelligence equals exactly that span between social-ignorance and self-knowledge.
Because the human spirit encompasses both social and personal realms, this space—between civil- and self-concern—might best be called ‘the hole in your soul’. It is lll’s goal to darn this hole. Thread by thread, it is our hope that engagement with this site provides the idiosyncratic insights to help make whole a humanitarian soul.
lll Goals
lll’s central goal is to promote decency via hosting written works which, in one fashion or another, grapple with the decency-indecency continuum; the humane and inhumane, the civil and uncivil, selfish and selfless…and leave that elusive definition of ‘the good’ to each reader’s unique take on the content of any particular piece, set of pieces or bit of meaning freaked into only just a phrase. High hopes and the best of intentions, lll seeks to unpaved that road to Hell. lll aims to burry pages, set-out a site-map and hope for literate pirates to become curious.
We seek to grow, promote general awareness, offer intellectual property and leave breadcrumbs along the path to eutopia.
