As nutty, threatening and potentially dangerous as it is and may seem to blame ‘promiscuous’ women, (i.e., females more liberal than a particular patriarchal mind-set can stand) for earthquakes, (i.e., the shaking and displacement of the ground caused by shifts in tectonic plates, ruptures of geological faults, or volcanic activity), this brand of problem-personification is in no way limited to Islamic clergy.
